Compelling User Stories Illuminating the Impact of EDVES in Education

Managing learning and learner’s data/information has been better with EDVES. We have almost all our reports computerized. EDVES helped us to deploy a robust online system

In 2020, We crossed 500 schools milestone on our platform, we currently have over 720 schools using Edves across Nigeria, Ghana, and Zimbabwe. We have equally worked with thousands of educators across these regions.

We had a short interview with the Proprietor of Hopespring Foundation School and the ICT Managers of Thomas Adewumi International College and Dansol High School,  highlighting how Edves has made a difference in how their work is being done.

Who is a Great Teacher?

A great teacher for me is a leader, someone who gives you not only the knowledge but also inspiration to live. He is the meaning of my success in life.

- Fatoki Femi,  ICT Manager of Dansol High School

A great teacher is someone who understands their learner’s strengths and weaknesses and can manage them to bring out desired results in them. More so, a teacher who does not confine their learners to his/her world rather exposes them to see the present age and the future and prepares them to develop the capacity to cope in the changing world.

Do you agree that Technology has advanced Education? If Yes, tell us how

Each generation of teachers and students has had to teach and learn using the technology tools available to them, be it the chalkboard, whiteboard or IP board, sticks, abacus, typewriter, calculator, computers, or Smartphones.

These inventions at each stage have made the teaching and learning process easier, more interactive, and fun for both teachers and students. Each new technology stimulates and enhances creativity, which in turn leads to more advanced technology. Knowledge is just a finger tap away, at every point.

Mary Akenosi Musa, Proprietor, Hopespring Foundation School

I strongly agree that technology has helped to advance education.

  • Distance is no longer a barrier to learning.
  • Learning has become interactive and practically continuous
  • Managing learners and facilitators have become easier and productive.
  • Digitalized record-keeping has reduced the cost of managing school; communication improved and cheaper.
  • Technology has made it easier to carry learner’s parents or guardians along in the education of their children/ward, which is an important aspect of education at this age.

How has Edves been helping you in your School?

Managing learning and learner’s data/information has been better with EDVES. We have almost all our reports computerized. EDVES helped us to deploy robust online learning during the COVID-19 lockdown. The only major difference in the school experience during that period was the absence of learners on the school premises. Learning did not stop.

It is easier now to carry our parents along in the learning of their kids/wards.

-Taiwo Tosin, Head of ICT, Thomas Adewumi International College

EDVES has through their software made it a lot easier to interact and interface with our pupils, particularly during the COVID-19 Pandemic period. We were able to continue learning through the use of their digital learning platform, send messages, results, and bills to parents.

Teachers' Curriculum, lesson plans, and videos are supervised seamlessly from any part of the world.

We can track every child’s progress, subject performance, and school-wide progress. We are also able to effectively track our school stock.

The constant training in diverse areas of the education business organized by EDVES

has been immensely helpful too.

- Mary Akenosi Musa, Proprietor, Hopespring Foundation School

I remember back in the days when I had to pay my tuition fee, my dad gave the accountant cash for tuition and a receipt had to be given manually as proof of payment also our exams were written in the class where we were given a sheet of paper to put down our answers. It is so funny the way attendance was marked, just imagine a class of 35 students and class teachers have to go through the stress to call out the names one after the other.

Edves has been able to automate all this for us, parents can sit in the comfort of their home to pay their child’s fees and receipts are generated automatically. Edves also automates exams and tests, so wonderful exams can be written online, parents don’t need to come to school to get a child's report sheet because they can check at their convenience on the school portal. It is seamless the way we can communicate with parents using Edves and also share useful resources to all students to aid learning and many more, it has been so wonderful.

What is the most remarkable thing about using Edves?

Edves has proved to understand clearly the procedures and the needs of Nigerian schools by providing EDVES School Solution that is updated regularly. At times, when I think of a need and before I make my request, it is already available. To me, this implies the team is very proactive, constantly thinking about our needs and looking for better ways to manage learning, learners, and the school. I commend their very responsive help desk.

- Taiwo Tosin, Head of ICT, Thomas Adewumi International College

The most remarkable thing about using Edves is integrity, how dedicated they are to their customers, they are always on point just to make sure everything goes well, they love to hear feedback and anytime there is any challenge they are quick to act and voila! All challenges are gone.
